The Ricardo Pepi USMNT Jersey Lineup
Earnie Stewart, who signed him for PSV, put it best. Anything in or around the box, Pepi is lethal, and in the director's box they joke that they start clapping before the ball goes in because they already know. The numbers agree: 24 goals in under 2,000 minutes for PSV, a rate of better than one every 90, and 23 of those 24 from inside the penalty area. Thirty of his appearances came off the bench.
That is what the 9 on these shirts buys you. Not a player who builds the move. A player who ends it.
El Paso, and a Choice
Pepi was born in El Paso and raised in San Elizario, in a family home that sits on the Texas-Mexico border. His parents, Daniel and Annette, emigrated from Mexico and met on a soccer field. He still crosses over to Ciudad Juárez to see family. He held both passports, and Mexico wanted him. He chose the United States, made his debut at 18, and scored the winner away in Honduras.
Then, in 2022, Gregg Berhalter left him out of the World Cup squad. He stayed loyal, went to Augsburg, struggled, went on loan to Groningen, and started scoring again. PSV bought him in 2023, and he has since won the Eredivisie three years running, contributing 14 league goals to the third title. Four years after the snub, he started at a World Cup on home soil. Pochettino calls him the striker with the best scoring touch in the American pool.
The 2026 Kits: Stripes and Stars
Nike named the 2026 pair after the two halves of the flag. The home, Stripes, is a Sail base cut with wavy red bands that trace back to the 1994 kit worn the last time the United States hosted, finished with custom Stars and Stripes number fonts.
The away, Stars, is a deep obsidian with a star pattern engineered into the fabric and metallic silver on the crest, the numbers and the Swoosh. These are the first U.S. Soccer kits co-designed with direct player input from start to finish, after the squad pushed back on the 2022 designs and asked for a bigger say.
Demand has been what you would expect for a number 9. The Pepi 2026 home is currently sold out in both the Stadium and Match Authentic builds, so check the size selector before you plan a customization. The United States World Cup 2026 collection has the rest of the range, including the away in Stadium and Match Authentic.
The 24/25 Sash and the 22/23 Ice Dye
The 24/25 away is the sash, brought back from the 1950 shirt worn when a United States team of part-timers beat England at a World Cup. It is stocked in Match Authentic at $200 and in the standard build at $125. The 24/25 Authentic home is the clean white with red, white and blue ribbing at the collar and "One Nation, One Team" inside the neck.
Further back, the 22/23 pair is on sale, with the home in White and Loyal Blue and the Ice Dye away both marked down to $91. That home is the kit built on American sport, dueling Swooshes on the sleeves from NFL jerseys. It is also, pointedly, the shirt of the World Cup he did not go to.
